Sonex N729ML, kit 1514, took flight January 2, 2016. Built by Marc Loftin and his father Tom Loftin. The build took three years. Marc commuted from San Diego to Kansas City several time per year during the construction. Gus Schlegel, the test pilot noted very good handling characteristics and excellent performance. Gus has built two Sonex's, N385SX and N7770R. See his website at - airgus.x10host.com . Ron Rogers a local CFII will be helping with the phase one fly off. After phase one is complete Sonex 729ML will fly cross country to Southern California where it will be hangared.
