Sonex 1171
Sonex #1171 N71SX was inspected and flew on July 29 which also happened to be my birthday. What a great day! Coming from spam cans this plane is what I would call a very affordable BLAST! V speeds are as advertised and on the fourth flight I achieved a straight and level WOT of 175mph and I don't have the wheel pants and leg fairings on yet. A special thanks needs to go Frank Silveira from California for all the above and beyond transition time in his Sonex whom I now consider a friend along with local flier John Murr and his Waiex. Thanks Sonex for what I would consider one of the best all around kit airplanes on the market.
