Sonex 0813

After a relatively long gestation of 8 years 2 months and 28 days, (but who's counting?) Sonex #813 finally took flight at 3:30 pm into a blustery but sunny afternoon at Callington Airstrip, South Australia on October 4, 2014.
We were airborne for 30 minutes with 3 circuits before a full stop and taxi back to the hangar. Everything went well with engine and airframe.
Thanks to Sonex for a great design and for the support over the years building. Also thanks to the great support from the Downunder SonexAus crew, Lynn Jarvis, Peter Anson, Doug McLean, Stuart Trist, Greg Jones and others whom I may have forgotten. It may have taken a long time and at times I never thought I'd get there, but with persistance and the support of a great Community of Sonex people, I did! Woohoo!
