Sonex 0492

Our Sonex is the perfect airplane. Lots of fun to do basic aerobatics in (loops & rolls) and enjoyable to fly cross country in. The little AeroVee engine is bullet proof. We have landed in all the lower 48 states so far and have over 300 hours including three long cross country flights: in 2006 from San Francisco to Oshkosh and back. In 2007 a long (6,800 mi), circular, cross country flight landing in 32 states as far north as ND; as far east as VA, N & S.C. And as far south as FL, AL and Miss. I burned an average of 4.3 GPH.
The third flight was in 2008 where I visited the last 12 states (to complete the 48). My Sonex was then on display at 2008 AirVenture in the EAA Affordable Flight Center. It is the first LSA to fly to all 48 lower states.
Building the Sonex & the AeroVee were two of the most rewarding things I have ever done.
