Sonex 0422

Sonex # 0422 taxi tests were completed on Saturday, 29 June 2013 but due to local weather conditions (Fog and low ceilings) the first flight had to be delayed for a day.

The first flight occurred today on 30 June 2013 at approximately 8:00 AM at Southwest Michigan Regional Airport (KBEH) with myself at the controls.

Thanks to the Sonex T-Flight program the take-off and landing phases did not offer any surprises and the flight lasted for about 30 minutes.

Other than some minor (correctable) aileron trim issues the flight was great. The early morning departure made for a very smooth flight and allowed me to concentrate on the airplane and systems performance. Now the hard work begins with AC-90-89A and the Sonex instructions as guide to take the airplane through the next 39.5 hours. Hopefully the weather cooperates.

Following are the specifications:

- Sonex #0422 was built from a Kit
- Conventional Gear
- Center control Stick
- AeroVee power with AeroCarb
