Builder Events: Northeast Sonex Builders Host 4th Annual Fly-In Event!
06-20-12

Sonex Aircraft builders in the Northeast United States held another outstanding Fly-In event this year, their 4th annual! Over 80 attendees, 8 Sonex Aircraft, and several other homebuilt and certified aircraft were on-hand for the event held Saturday, June 16th in Keene, New Hampshire.

"The weather could not have been better," writes event co-organizer Mike Smith. "...the temps were in the 70's, the sun was out, the clouds were few, and the winds were light and variable all day long."

A cookout lunch was provided by Keene FBO Monadnock Aviation, door prizes were awarded, and attendees had an opportunity to experience rides in the Sonex Aircraft on the field. "During the day we had an instructor in a Citabria giving introductory tail wheel instruction, primarily for those Sonex builders without a tail wheel endorsement," writes Mike. "Four attendees were the beneficiaries of that training, and got the appropriate logbook entries to start their tail wheel training."

Sonex Aircraft, LLC would like to extend a huge thanks to event organizers Mike Smith and Glenn Hunt, as well as all participating pilots & attendees for making this grass-roots Sonex builder event so successful! You can find other events, or submit your own Sonex Builder Event to our Builders' Events Calendar!
