I made my first flight 4/11/20 and stayed aloft 1.2 hours. Aerovee 80 ran flawless and I got my 1+ hours at 3000+ RPM as recommended in the Aerovee manual. Aircraft flew great. Flight controls were a bit sensitive but within 15 minutes and my anxiety calming down all went well. In my early days I built an RV 4 and had several hundred hours in it so there were a lot of similarities to the Onex.Ya'll have nice kits and great support. Thanks Kerry for your help on the few issues I needed help with.

Sonex #0218 successfully test flown by Mr Will Quint (Flight Instructor and Ace Test Pilot, Bendigo Flying Club) - #0218 (Regn 19-1654) took to the skies like a homesick angel. Huge thanks to Rod Shearer - Australia's best LAME for sticking with me and the project throughout. Big thanks to Linda Beilharz CFI and Col Hokin (Flight Instructor and Second Ace Test Pilot), Bendigo Flying Club, for instruction and successful gaining of RA-Aus Pilot Certificate. Huge thanks to Helen, Laura and Rachel McCarthy for all the family support over the 19 years of building. Another huge thanks Marjie James - Ace Sonex Support Crew - for all the accommodation, meals, washing, sewing and general good company. Big thanks to all the other family and friends who supported throughout. August 13, 2019 was first flight for our Waiex-B flown by Gary Ludeke. Performed seven successful takeoff and landings with no known issues. Very exciting to see the plane fly that my wife Lynn and I built together. Thank you for a wonderful airplane and for the wonderful experience that we only expect to get better.

Flew great. Needs more runway than I was accustomed to (Tony is a former Harrier pilot), but once airborne handles well and has superb visibility. I'm enjoying flying it.
