Stratomaster XTreme

The XTreme EFIS is an affordable mini EFIS. It can be configured as a PFD (with AHRS sensors added), and/or an engine monitor (with RDAC added). It includes a GPS receiver that is used to provide ground speed and range information, as well as a backup/control for the AHRS. If you do not select the SP-7 attitude sensor, you can still have a GPS-derived bank angle display!

You can use it as...

  • Primary EFIS
  • Backup EFIS
  • Engine Monitor
  • EFIS/Engine Monitor

Some might use it for just 1 function, or you could use all functions!

Upcoming functions (free software upgrade later this year): Basic GPS navigation (waypoints, routes, CDI (no moving map)), and Internal Autopilot (just add servos and connection module).

The XTreme EFIS is a mini-EFIS unit based on a 4.3" sunlight readable, wide viewing angle, high resolution LCD display. It integrates an SD card reader (for software updates and for flight data recorder), 5 function buttons, a rotary control and a basic GPS navigator (functions available in future firmware release).

It can be connected to standard MGL Avionics AHRS sensors and RDAC (engine monitor) boxes. It also integrates a CAN Aerospace compatible communications interface that will be used with future versions of MGL Avionics sensors. Standard RS-232 ports are also available.

The XTreme is designed to fit a standard 3 1/8" round instrument hole. The body is located off-center allowing the unit to replace instruments on the right side of a standard 6-pack configuration or any other location that currently occupies two instruments.

Due to the light weight and very low mounting depth no complicated mounting brackets or trays are needed. Power use is low and operation from much less than 12V to around 28V is fully supported.

SP-6 Magnetometer (Compass sensor)

$260.00

You must be logged-in as a Sonex Aircraft plans owner to view this product category.

Please use our Instruments Order Form for Mail or Fax orders.

The SP-6 contains a three-axis magnetic field sensor and a 2-axis accelerometer. Featuring a high resolution 16 bit measurement system, a powerful ATMega processor is used to output tilt-compensated heading information. If an SP-7 AHRS is used on the same Airtalk communications link, tilt compensation is augmented using gyro data.

SP-7 AHRS Attitude (horizon) sensor

$800.00

You must be logged-in as a Sonex Aircraft plans owner to view this product category.

Please use our Instruments Order Form for Mail or Fax orders.

The SP-7 contains 3 MEMS gyros and 3 MEMS vibrating body accelerometers. Using a 16 bit data acquisition subsystem, a powerful ARM7 32 bit processor is used to provide stabilized attitude information. SP-7 can handle roll rates of approximately 250 degrees per second. Together with an SP-6 magnetometer on the same Airtalk communications link, the gyro heading can be automatically slaved to the magnetic heading.

Note: Stratomaster CNV-AT is NOT required for the XTreme as Mode C functionality is already built-in.
